Neil Lightfoot is a partner at Genesis. He joined the firm in October 2008, and his areas of expertise include consumer insights and analysis, pricing, market structure, and credit risk operations strategy.
Neil has led several assignments, including the development of strategy for a Tier II retail bank in Kenya. He is currently working on a long-term project in Nigeria. Sponsored by the World Bank, the aim of the project is to build institutional capacity for a large retail bank as it enters into and expands in the microfinance market.
Before joining Genesis, Neil worked for retail credit risk consulting and software specialists, PIC Solutions, where he was responsible for delivering projects in the retail banking and furniture retail sectors in South Africa, Mozambique and Zambia. His particular area of focus was retail credit strategy and human performance optimisation. Prior to joining PIC, he held several management positions at Nedbank, where he worked on a number of strategy projects, including channel strategy design, retail organisation design and value proposition development. While previously employed at Accenture Services, he was awarded the international Strategic Research Insight and Innovation Award for his logistics benchmarking for Spoornet.
Neil holds a BA (Honours) degree in Research Psychology from the University of the Witwatersrand, an MA in Research Psychology from the University of South Africa, and an MBA from the Graduate School of Business at the University of the Witwatersrand.
